Buddy Biggs is the Royals' new coach

Buddy Biggs is the new boys basketball coach at Mason County High School. Biggs, an assistant coach for the Royals under Kelly Wells, has been the head coach at Ashland the past nine seasons. He was the head coach at Pendleton County for five seasons. His career record is 274-166. Biggs guided Pendleton County to the 2005 10th Region championship. Biggs had three 20-win seasons and won three district titles at Pendleton County, and had six 20-win seasons and won six district titles at Ashland. He was the 2005 Associated Press Kentucky Coach of the Year, the 2006 Courier-Journal Kentucky Coach of the Year and Kentucky Association of Basketball Coaches Region Coach of the Year in 2004, 2006 and 2011.

Chris O'Hearn resigns as Royals coach to become MCHS principal

After 11 seasons as the Mason County Royals' coach, Chris O'Hearn has resigned to become the principal at Mason County High School. O'Hearn guided the Royals to nine 39th district titles, four 10th Region championships, the 2008 state championship and the state final four in 2010. With a record of 260-85, O'Hearn is the second winningest coach at Mason County. He was an assistant coach at Mason County five seasons. O'Hearn's 22-year coaching career includes three seasons as the head coach at Nicholas County. He guided the Bluejackets to a 10th Region All "A" Classic title. Here is O'Hearn's season-by-season record at Mason County:
