Dennis "Denny" Barbour is 23rd on the Royals' all-time scoring list with 1,077 career points. He was Mason County's second leading scorer his junior and senior seasons. Barbour scored a season-high 29 points in a 63-61 win over Harrison County in the semifinals of the 1971 10th Region Tournament, and a career-high 35 points and hit 19-of-19 free throws in an 82-78 victory over Newport Catholic in 1972. He averaged 15.6 points per game his senior season when the Royals went 30-4 and won 26 consecutive games. It was Mason County's first 30-win season. Barbour played baseball at Eastern Kentucky University and pitched a no-hitter in a 3-0 win over Cumberland College in 1973.

The 2009-10 season was the 50th for the Mason County Royals. I blogged about the Royals' history throughout the season. I will continue to add photos, the team rosters for subsequent seasons and update records in earlier posts. I gathered the information from a number of sources including the Mason County record book compiled by Tony Sapp and Rick Swartz, old score books, old newspaper stories and my own score sheets and journals. I hope you enjoy the blog.
