Tom and Mike Corde members of Royals' 1,000 point club and played at Ohio U.

The Corde brothers- Tom and Mike- are members of the Royals' 1,000 point club and both played for the Ohio University Bobcats. Tom graduated from Mason County in 1968 after playing for coaches Herb Childers and Jim Mitchell. Mike is a 1972 graduate of Mason County High School. He played for Coach Jim Mitchell. Here are the Corde brothers' career highlights at Mason County and Ohio University:

Tom Corde

  • Led the Royals in scoring his senior season with an average of 16.7 points a game;
  • Scored a career-high 29 points vs. Breathitt County in 1968;
  • Is 14th on the Royals' all-time scoring list with1,326 points;
  • Was the team captain for Ohio University his senior season (1971-72);
  • Led the Bobcats in scoring his senior season with an average of 17.3 points per game;
  • Named first-team All-Mid-American Conference in 1972;
  • Selected by the New York Knicks in the 8th round of the 1972 NBA Draft.
Mike Corde
  • Led Mason County in scoring his junior season with an average of 16.0 points per game;
  • Led the Royals in scoring his senior season with an average of 16.1 points per game;
  • Scored a career-high 35 points vs. Covington Catholic in 1972;
  • Is 13th on the Royals' all-time scoring list with 1,364 career points;
  • Was the third leading scoring for Ohio University his senior season (1975-76) with an average of 11.3 points per game.
